The manga series of Apocripha/0 is written and illustrated by Azusa Yuhki herself, and the first volume pages came out even before the game was released in 2001. It is running by G-Fantasy Comics and published by (Square-) Enix. The series have ended on April 2004.
The story is the same, focusing on the battle of succession between Alex and Platina and the battles with angels. However, it gets deeper and more meticulous as the story progresses. There is a need in the story where Alex laboriously accepts the fact that he has to learn out to fight and eventually kill. Then hatred and grudges unfold as each of the characters appear. Although the manga is Alex-centric, we witness that both brothers, Alex and Platina, do become closer to each other. My review on the manga.

Summary: Alex, accompanied by Sapphirus, used his magic to destroy the attacking angels. His right eye began to hurt, and he saw Platina in his vision, talking to him (others would see Alex conversing with himself) and Alex sensed Platina in danger. Platina attacked Jade and asked him if it was his plan to kill his brother Alex. Being a little too soft for a moment, Platina suddenly was stabbed by a tree branch that Jade created, and then Jade hinted that he was an angel. When he was about to finish off Platina, Alex and Sapphirus arrive with Alex stopping him. Alex tried to talk Jade out, but the result was finding himself betrayed by Sapphirus, who crushed the King's crown and retrieved the Stone of God. Therefore both Alex and Platina become trapped within the tree, in a spirit realm - a dream. This caused the whole place to quake, and it killed the little girl that was talking to Alex. Platina embraces Alex when he saw how broken his brother was in that realm. Jade showed Sapphirus the cross necklace that he took away from Sapphirus and asked him questions.
Beryl and Zil arrive to the scene, feeling the presence of the princes inside the tree; and then Ruby asked for Beryl and Zil's help, but Beryl said the future was decided already and also told Ruby that he knew about him as well as Carrol. Meanwhile within the spirit realm, Platina smiled and told Alex to forget about the reality and just stay with him in this dream, forgetting all the sadness and pain. But Alex said he had to return, so...Platina protected Alex until the last as Alex returned back, giving him a blue right eye as proof. After Alex slapped Beryl, Beryl explained to him about himself, Naraku, and the fact about the Angel he loved (Seles).
Beryl and Alex warped to where Sapphirus and Jade were and tried to stop them. Jade began hesitating when he felt the presence of Platina within Alex, but Sapphirus suddenly took the stone from Jade as he noticed and Alex (but Beryl blocked) and even Jade. Everyone was surprised. When Sapphirus was about to attack, Alex said he had always liked the kind smile that Sapphirus had and would never forget it, and Sapphirus froze for a moment. As Alex plunged to stab Sapphirus.... Jade blocked, telling Alex he must not do that. Sapphirus snapped when he saw, and along with Alex, he cried. After Jade's death, Alex was about to kill Sapphirus, but instead, he told him to live. Sapphirus smiled one last time kindly and disappeared. Ten years later, Alex visit Jade's grave and found flowers and a cross necklace on it.
